We're partnering with America's Black Holocaust Museum for our 2nd annual fundraiser celebrating Black History Month. This year, The Griot (pronounced GREE-oh) combines a natural-processed coffee from Uganda with our washed Ethiopia Kebero to create a blend that celebrates the West African tradition of oral historians who shared the past and present through music, poetry, and storytelling. This combination of coffees offers notes of mixed berries, orange, green apple, chocolate, and light floral. The Griot coffee bags are available in our cafes and at shop.colectivocoffee.com for sale the full month of February. Cafes will have The Griot brewing for customers to order Feb 16 - March 1.$1 FROM EVERY BAG supports America's Black Holocaust Museum. The grand reopening of the America's Black Holocaust Museum is scheduled for Friday, February 25, 2022. The museum encompasses over 400 years of history and is located in Milwaukee’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood (2 miles south of our roasting facility at the Humboldt Cafe).America's Black Holocaust Museum is a unique experience for visitors, as both a historical and memorial museum. The museum offers two ways to share under told stories of our collective American history: through on-site and on-line galleries, with access to 3300+ pages of virtual content. The museum explores this history from pre-captivity in Africa to the present day and was originally founded in 1988 by Dr. James Cameron, one of few known survivors of a lynching in our country's history.
