ABOUT THE COFFEE, available August 21, 2017: Every year Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada (COCAFCAL), one of the best-known Fair Trade producer groups in Honduras, invites roasters and importers from around the world to judge its “¡Te Van a Conocer Compa!” coffee competition and taste coffees submitted by the cooperative’s individual members. COCAFCAL General Manager Omar Rodríguez Romero uses the event as a means of improving production methods, building relationships, and motivating producers to elevate coffee quality. Colectivo first participated in 2009 and returned this past March for the 10th anniversary, during which we selected two of our favorite micro-lots to create this limited seasonal offering. Honduras Capucas has notes of dried fruits, caramel, red apple, and dark chocolate with a rich, creamy body. Enjoy!
