As Colectivo turns 25, we’re taking time to acknowledge what’s important to us. This month we celebrate our community partners. These are just a few of the many organizations that have enriched our neighborhoods and brought excitement to our cafes. We want to thank the people we've met and recognize the creativity and collaboration born from these relationships. We flipped through our photo archives and found some highlights to share. Check them out below! This summer marks 15 years of Música del Lago, our partnership to present an annual free outdoor music series with UWM’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Enjoy this video from year 10, with De La Buena performing on a beautiful summer evening at Colectivo Lakefront.A visit to Growing Power, 2001. We partnered with Will Allen's sustainable urban farm, swapping compostable coffee grounds for greens. In 2011, we welcomed our Riverwest neighbors La Escuela Fratney to stop by Colectivo Humboldt for cookies and milk and a little visit from a Sassy Cow Creamery calf! Colectivo has partnered with Fratney in a variety of ways over the years, including our longtime support for the school's participation in the Urban Ecology Center NEEP program.A photo from the 2017 Milwaukee Rep Song Series. Carolers braved frigid December temperatures to make merry at the 68th and Wells cafe in Wauwatosa. The Colectivo Mountain Bike Team -- and the Alterra team before it -- has hosted many exciting races over the years in partnership with the Wisconsin Off Road Series. Here’s a video from the 2014 Coffee Bean Classic at Crystal Ridge.Colectivo partnered with Bublr Bikes in 2016 to help roll out Milwaukee’s very own bike share program. Look for RW Station, our special edition coffee benefiting Bublr, in August again this year! One dollar for every pound sold will help fund a Riverwest neighborhood Bike Stop. There’s something about the combination of coffee and bikes that we've always enjoyed.Cheers to another 25 years of community, creativity, and coffee!
