Guest Artist Series: Alyssa Low

To celebrate our upcoming Southport cafe opening, we partnered with Chicago artist and multidisciplinary designer Alyssa Low for the newest release in our Guest Artist Series.

Like many of our cafe openings, this collaboration is rooted in community, creativity and a shared sense of place. Alyssa’s limited-edition design captures the spirit of the Southport neighborhood through bold color, geometric forms and coffee-inspired iconography—all wrapped around one of our everyday offerings: Co-Optiva Farm Blend.

Inspired by Southport, Chicago

This concept blends Southport’s local identity with Colectivo Coffee’s creative spirit. Inspired by the neighborhood’s architecture, lakefront setting, and gridded streets, the design uses simplified geometric forms to express a strong sense of place. Clouds, sun, waves, and rooftops evoke the outdoors, while vertical “SOUTHPORT” lettering anchors the location. References to coffee culture—roasted beans, a steaming mug with a Chicago star, and pour-over silhouettes—celebrate the ritual of brewing, balancing organic warmth with urban structure.

Meet Alyssa Low

Alyssa Low is a Chicago artist and multidisciplinary designer whose work explores the dynamic relationship between color, shape, and composition.

Her visual style combines minimalistic forms, bold colors and modular storytelling to create narratives filled with mementos and iconography. Over the years, she has collaborated with a wide range of clients spanning nationally recognized brands and local institutions alike—including Nike, Wayfair, Cava, Vuori, the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks.

We’re honored to feature her work as part of this latest Guest Artist Series.

The Coffee: Co-Optiva

Inside the bag is Co-Optiva—one of our longtime everyday offerings and a favorite morning friend.

Co-Optiva is a celebration of the small-scale farmers who are committed to quality in the cup. We've combined organic coffees produced by Fair Trade cooperatives in Central and South America with whom we have built long-standing relationships over the years.

Expect balanced flavors reminiscent of nectarine and caramel.

Coming Soon

This limited-edition Guest Artist bag will be available online and in cafes for a limited time as we prepare to open our newest cafe in Chicago’s Southport neighborhood.

We can’t wait to share more soon.
