This Guest Artist Series is something else! For those who are unfamiliar with this series, it's a way for us to connect with gifted artists in our communities. This time around, we're excited to announce Fred Stonehouse as our next guest artist! About The Artist: Fred Stonehouse Fred has always been fascinated by the idea of history and memory—how it is conveyed and how much truth is actually captured? His work often explores the idea of the loss and reinterpretation that occurs in translation. His characters—caught in a constant struggle to connect—weep, sweat, bleed, and speak but never quite connect in the ways they had intended. Co-Optiva Fred was drawn to Co-Optiva not because of the Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) aesthetic but the meaning behind it: the thought of our ancestors watching over us. While the cycle of life and death goes on, the relationships we've created during our lives remain with the dead. During the month of October, Fred’s reinterpretation of Co-Optiva will be available for sale at all cafes and our webstore—while supplies last. Shop Guest Artist Series Co-Optiva HERE! For each bag of this Guest Artist Series sold, we will donate $1 to Art for Humanity—a charity supporting the people of Honduras, the origin Co-Optiva itself!
