What is Fair Trade? Fair Trade is a global movement made up of a incredibly diverse network of producers, companies and other organizations working to build a more equitable model of trade. In addition to the movement, there is the Fair Trade Certification and Fair Trade USA—the nonprofit behind the certification. Colectivo currently ranks in the top 30 of roaster partners for Fair Trade USA – approximately half of the coffee we purchase is Fair Trade Certified™. Why is Fair Trade Is Important? Fair Trade ensures small-scale producers in developing countries are paid and treated fair for their goods. Fair trade standards protect the well-being of workers behind our products—and a portion of every purchase sends community development funds back to workers to help provide sustainable livelihoods and build communities.
